MWA has the commitment, experience and infrastructure to make your safari the experience of a lifetime.
Our team, from the office staff to the camp staff and professional hunters, are committed in making your “Truly Wild African Hunting Safari” Experience a memorable one. Our professional hunters are experienced in pursuing the Danger Game as well as the plains game of Mozambique.
Mozambique Wild Adventures (MWA) Hunting Concession has been providing quality-hunting safaris for over 13 years. In this time, we have successfully conducted a great number of hunting safaris with a successful hunting rate of 96%. We know that a great amount of care goes into choosing a Safari, therefore our Vision and Motto is “Every Client comes as a Client but must leave as a Friend”.
Very few hunting destinations in Africa can compete with the natural beauty of northern Mozambiques’ Niassa Province. Our area is located in the Savannah Biome and is characterized by predominantly Miombo woodland. The landscape is dotted by impressive granite Inselbergs, seasonal rivers and lush seepages. Mozambique Wild Adventures has been hunting and developing the Marangira concession (coutada) since 2006. The area encompasses roughly 270 000 hectares (668 000 acres) and borders Niassa National Reserve to its North and is located 130 kilometers South of Tanzanias’ Selous Game Reserve.
The area supports a large variety of huntable species of which several are endemic to the region including; Bohms’ Zebra, Johnsons’ Impala and the Nyassa Wildebeest. Non-huntable species such as the endangered African Wild Dog are also present in the area as well as a variety of smaller cats. Several local small communities are presentin Marangira and MWA works closely with their leaders to assist in community projects such as supporting schools with equipment, honey farming, harvesting community quota etc. We furthermore strive to create an awareness of the importance of sustainable hunting as a land use form in the region.
MWA is committed to conservation and has its own anti-poaching units patrolling the concession in close collaboration with Government Environmental Police. The operators’ game scouts are funded from income derived from visiting hunters, and for those who wish to assist our efforts further the option to donate much needed equipment is much appreciated.
Marangira offers great opportunities to visiting international hunters. We believe in traditional and ethical walk and stalk safaris and hunters need to be fit as conditions can be challenging. Our hunting season is from June until the end of November.
